Fast Female is cycle-synced fasting and training for women: a cohort programme and a companion app. Jess leads it. We are cofounders, and we built the product.

The app

The platform at app.fastfemale.io starts with seven onboarding steps, then gives each member a home for the day: where she is in her cycle, today’s fasting window, and a place to log.

  • Built on Next.js, with Postgres and Drizzle.
  • Sign-in by email link, Google or Apple, through Auth.js.
  • A push notification when a fast reaches its target.
  • A JSON API kept apart from the screens, so a mobile app can use the same one later.

The admin panel

Admins see users, invitations and platform settings. An invitation carries its own set of feature switches, so a new member arrives with exactly the features she was invited to.

Analytics

PostHog and Google Tag Manager, each on only when configured. The rule in the code is that free-text symptoms, log notes and chat content are never sent to either. Only categories and counts are.

The site and its CMS

The marketing site at fastfemale.io runs on Strapi 5 and Next.js. Jess writes each page in Strapi as a list of sections, and the landing page styler renders whatever she provides. Publishing rebuilds the site into plain HTML, so visitors never wait on the CMS.

Where it stands

Work on the app began in May 2026 and the site followed in July. On 9 June 2026 Fast Female was one of nine finalists, from six countries, pitching at ERIA’s HITS4WOMEN in Jakarta; Jess wrote about it on LinkedIn. The project has been halted since August 2026.
